Which Java version is used by MultiDoc?

MultiDoc is written in Java Version 8, and Oracle-Java-Runtime (JRE) is required due to different compatibility reasons. Setup leads you to install the neccessary Java version, if not installed previously.

MacOS: “You need to install the legacy Java SE 6 runtime”

MacOS, before: OS-X, sometimes requires Apple’s own legacy Java variant on start of Lookup2 MultiDoc especially on older systems. That’s due to the fact, that the most actual “original” Oracle Java 8 version is unknown on these systems. It looks like a simple installation of it doesn’t work either. To get MultiDoc to work on MacOS, you need the “Java Development Kit” (JDK) in Version 8, even if you are a normal user only!
As long as Apple’s old legacy Java version is still installed, there may arise more problems with it. You’ll need to uninstall this legacy Java 6 which has been superseeded by Oracle Java 8 entirely. But you need to uninstall it manually.

CONSULTING TRUE FRIENDS.

Who is actually behind LOOKUP2 MultiDoc? We are happy to introduce ourselves! In September 2000, software developer Guido Schnepp, a certified ISIS Papyrus Application Developer, took up his freelance work as a Papyrus Consultant. For the detailed problem analysis of AFPDS data streams, he published the indispensable software tool AFP Lookup, whose worthy successor is Lookup2 MultiDoc. This laid the foundations for today’s CRE-DO consulting and software offer for document automation, output management, and document design.

In addition to the development of its own software products, CRE-DO focuses on the problem solving of customer-specific problems through its own consulting team, experienced in customer environments.
